Meals occur primarily at homes, restaurants, and cafeterias, but may occur anywhere. Regular meals occur on a daily basis, typically several times a day. Special meals are usually held in conjunction with such occasions as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, and holidays. A meal is different from a snack in that meals are larger, more varied, and more filling, while snacks are more likely to be small, high-calorie affairs; however, any food eaten in small amounts at an unscheduled time can be classified as a snack. A picnic is an outdoor meal where one brings one's food, such as a sandwich or a prepared meal (sometimes in a picnic basket). It often takes place in a natural or recreative area, such as a park, forest, beach, or grassy lawn. On long drives a picnic may take place at a road-side stop such as a rest area. A banquet is a large, often formal, and elaborate meal with many guests and dishes. From Wikipedia under the
GNU Free Documentation License How many meal replacement drinks are you allowed to drink per day? Q. I just got my wisdom teeth out and I can't eat real food yet except for like mashed potatoes. I have also been having meal replacement drinks and I was wondering is there a maximum amount that you are allowed to have in a day? If it said on the back of the box, I wouldn't be asking. A meal replacement has a lot of essential nutrients and can replace an actual meal, you should have 3 meals a day, so I'd say 3 meal replacements would be good, but you can have as many as you want. With the consequences that it will turn into fat if you dont burn a few of the calories. Answered by Gavin D - Thu Sep 4 13:36:34 2008 How can I cook a nutritious meal every night and work full-time? Q. Both myself and my husband work full time, and I'm really finding it difficult to fit in work, housework and cooking. As a result, my husband and I are living on take-out and it's taking it's toll on our stomachs and wallets! Does anyone have any good tips for organising meals during the week, or any good easy meal ideas for busy, young couples like ourselves? Asked by angeldrac - Tue Dec 11 01:46:13 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. Yes, I find cooking in batches when I have the time works well. Make a big pot of soup or stew on Sunday, and have it for supper with different sides (baked potatoes, salads, breads, sandwiches etc) each night. When you've eaten half the soup, about mid-week, then add some new ingredients (tomato sauce, cream sauce, new herbs, new vegetables, etc) to freshen it up for the rest of the week. The other life-saver is a crock pot. Throw a few items into the pot the night before, plug it in before you leave for work, and dinner is ready when you get home. There are hundreds of good crock pot cookbooks out there, you'll find one that appeals to you. Best of luck. Q. This might seem silly, but I just moved to my own place and I am at a loss at how to stock my kitchen and which meals to cook on a regular basis. I can do the cooking, but need ideas for staple meals and a basic philosophy. Do most people have basic recipes for each meal (like 10 ideas for lunch, 15 for dinner) and then rotate them? Or do people mostly just cook what they crave and go to the market every day? Also, do people automatically eat salad with every meal? I don't need recipes, just lists of dishes and an overview of how people think about running their kitchens. Asked by Tapas - Tue Jul 24 23:57:58 2007 - - 9 Answers - 0 Comments A. I used to travel at work (30 years) and did most of my own cooking. I was of course usually limited to what I could do with a portable microwave (an antique now but still works) and hotplate. Refrigeration is a real blessing, but I digress. The biggest problem in cooking for one is purchasing small quantities. The alternative being that you have the same thing for two or three days in one week. I found that produce is the easiest to cope with. Buy a couple of potatoes, parsnips, tomatoes, pieces of fruit etc. each week. Mushrooms, endive, small bags of pre-washed salad fixings. Milk if you drink it in sizes fitted to your consumption. I'd advise shopping once a week. Meats, fish and poultry will keep a week, and you can precook and… [cont.] Answered by Gaspode - Wed Jul 25 00:28:39 2007 From Yahoo Answer Search: "meal" NYC mayor supports mosque near WTC at Ramadan meal - The Associated Press
